Casino-Inspired Movies You Should Watch

Keeping the Oh-so-famous James Bond movie Casino Royale aside, which we hope is already seen by more than half of the world's population, here are other lesser-known amazing casino-inspired movies one can give a go. If you have never been to a casino in real, the only reason you can still relate to it is that you have seen it somewhere in the movies. To heighten your experience even more, here are some casino-inspired movies.

1. Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

This is based on a true story. We know we got your attention here. The story revolves around the sportswriter journalist Hunter Thompson played by Johnny Depp and his lawyer. They both decide to cover a story, and off they went from LA to Vegas for this. Hunter is into drugs which makes the story more twisting and exciting. When they reach Las Vegas, you are sure to witness some real casino scenes.

But here, you won't be seeing Las Vegas as an ‘American dream’ but the dark side of it. The movie was released in the year 1998 and can be called a classic now.

2. Casino

Directed by Martin Scorsese in 1995, Casino is that spark that enlightened many with the Las Vegas lifestyle. The story revolves around Sam “Ace” Rothstein (Robert De Niro) and his old friend Nicky Santoro. The story is based on how those who cheated the system to get on top are taken down by the FBI, government officials, and angry mafia bosses for their own benefit.

3. Ocean’s Eleven

Released in the year 2001, Ocean’s Eleven not only had a great cast but also has a story rich in action, light comedy, and drama. The story is based on how a professional thief and his team robs the Las Vegas famous casinos – MGM Grand, Mirage, and Bellagio. Even if you don’t enjoy the storyline, the glimpses of the greatest casinos will do the job for you.

4. Mississippi Grind

Garry and Curtis become friends when they meet in Iowa playing a poker game. They both decided to get on a road trip from the Mississippi River to New Orleans, trying their luck out on the way.

The story is brought forward smartly with elements of risky behavior as they try their luck throughout the way. Do they end up winning big in the last is what will keep you hooked to the film?

5. Croupier

This film rightly depicts how the world from gambling can take you in with no exit points. The story is about an aspiring writer when he starts to face writer’s block and decides to join as a croupier in a huge casino.

His casino lifestyle made him find an inspiration to write a novel, but he fails to get himself out of the addicting world of gambling. He starts to view the world as a way to gamble.

All online casinos, for this reason, are focused on safe and responsible gambling. The best Japanese online casinos ranking on top are rather considered safer to dwell in.
